BEAUTY // Boots Haul

Sooo… I went in for one thing and came out with a few more.  Always the way, am I right? In my defence, I hadn’t been in Boots for a while so it was about time!

Natural Collection Eyeshadow – Milk Chocolate
My Boots app told me I’d get 100 points when I bought two or more Natural Collection products. Who am I to disagree? I think Natural Collection is an underrated drugstore brand, as everything I’ve tried for them I’ve been impressed with considering the price.  I picked up this single eyeshadow as it’s a super natural colour which could be used everyday for a subtle wash of colour on the lids. They have a great colour selection, and a couple of shimmer shades I might have to go back for…

Natural Collection Cover Up Cream
I tried this YEARS ago and decided to pick it up again.  The coverage is not amazing, but if you don’t need anything heavy duty then this is great.  It’s not too thick, blended well, and actually did a good job of hiding my really dark under eye circles (which was very surprising). The only negative is that there are just two shades.  I’ll put this to the test and see if it can survive a full day at work, but so far so good (and such a bargain).

Maybelline Brow Drama Pomade Crayon
I found this on the new in stand and couldn’t resist.  I haven’t heard or read anything about it so I’m interested to see how it fairs, but so far so good.  There are three shades to choose from, all cool tones which is great. I picked up dark brown for myself, and my mum got dark blonde  First impressions, the crayon is super creamy and applies really well.  It fills your eyebrows in super quickly, however if you like a precise line for your eyebrows this maybe isn’t for you. I personally really like it so far, and with a couple of £s knocked off at the moment I’d recommend picking it up and having a swatch.

Max Factor Colour Elixir Lipstick – Rosewood
I saw this colour lying around on top of the display.  It’s not something I’d have picked out for myself as I don’t usually wear pink colours, however I gave it a little swatch and into the basket it went. It’s a lovely dusky rose colour, with a little pearl/shimmer finish (but nothing horrific… don’t panic!) and the embossed X  and gold packaging makes it look more expensive than it is.  I’m already picturing this lipstick finishing off a sophisticated make up look!

Batiste Dry Shampoo
Basically the law that every month I pick up some more dry shampoo.  I love the floral scent, and with buy one get one half price (or some similar deal) I wanted to try one of their “specialist” cans, as sometimes my hair can be left looking a little dry.

Boots Glycerine and Rosewater Toner

Hands down this is my favourite toner EVER.  Plus it’s such a bargain coming in under £3.  It smells amazing and has done wonders for my skin.  I suffer from dry skin and this is one of my go to products for keeping everything moisturised – when I don’t use it, I notice it!!! It’s a little sticky on the skin initially, but under a moisturiser this is not a problem at all (don’t know anyone that would use a toner alone?). 100% would recommend this if you’re looking for a moisturising toner!

Have you tried any of these products?  What have you picked up recently in Boots?

BEAUTY // NARS x Steven Klein Dead Of Summer Palette

I was lucky enough to receive this NARS x Steven Klein eyeshadow palette for Christmas from my brother after lusting over it on ASOS for a looong time. It’s the first NARS eyeshadow palette I’ve ever owned and I am in love (heart shape eye emoji).

This is (if you hadn't guessed from the title...) the NARS Dead of Summer palette from the Steven Klein limited edition holiday 2015 collection. It comes with 4 dual intensity eyeshadows and one mini Larger Than Life eyeliner.

The four eyeshadow colours are Studly, which is a pale gold/champagne, Stag Film, which is a rose gold, Subra which is a deep plum and Blackmail which is… well, black! Three of the colours are a shimmer, with the black being more matte.

The eyeliner is the Mini Via Veneto Larger Than Life Eyeliner in black, which goes really well with the smokey eye that can be created with the eyeshadows. This eyeliner is a lot creamier than some high end eyeliners I’ve tried, and on first wear seems like it will stay put (no time for eyeliner than tries to run away from your waterline down your face!!).

These dual intensity eyeshadows can be worn wet or dry depending on how opaque you want the colours to be.  They can also be worn singularly to create a softer day look.

This palette is great, especially for travelling, however my only Negative Nancy comment is that there are only a limited number of looks that you can create, so if you’re going away for a while, or you want a lot of eyeshadow options, I don’t know if this is the palette you’d pack.

Aside from that, it’s a beautiful selection of colours with a creamy eyeliner that can create some serious wow smokey eyes!

What do you think of this NARS palette? Have you tried NARS eyeshadows before?

LIFE // Some Favourite Blogs

Something a little different today!  I’d been thinking for a while that I wanted to share with you some of my favourite bloggers to read, as I love these sorts of posts for finding new blogs to read.

Lydia, and her blog, are absolutely beautiful! She has the most enviable wardrobe, which has me wanting all the designer bags and shoes.  She posts amazing recipes and is the fitness motivation I need to get off my butt and get lunging. Since I recently started following her on snapchat, my love for her has grown as she is such a lovely and genuine person!

I originally started following Anna because of all her beauty posts (that had me high-end lusting) however I love the variety of posts she does, especially her capsule wardrobe motivation! Her fitness posts are very honest and relatable, she has me wanting to take the plunge with yoga, and I love her snack recipes.

If you’re looking for a product review, there’s a high chance that Jasmine will have it.  She is super honest in all her reviews and I love that she includes swatches.  What I also love is that she does beauty round up or group posts rather than just review after review. She is also really helpful especially on #bbloggers chat if you have any questions.

In the least weird way possible I could scroll through Chloe’s outfits all day.  They’re so wearable too and have got me ordering ALL the fur coats, and ALL the boyfriend fit jeans.  Plus, she’s super sassy!

I found Cara years ago through Pinterest and was sucked in to her blog instantly (her son, Hanes, was also a super cute hook to her blog.) She is such a natural beauty with a wardrobe the size of my house! Her outfits are always perfect but wearable.  Her hair makes me die how it’s always so volumous and her make up is always beautiful.  On top of ALL that, she’s super lovely too!

Again, another blog I go to for all things beauty! Emily's blog is a great beauty all-rounder, with drugstore and high end products – so there’s something for everyone!  Emily is super lovely and super gorgeous and I’m really proud of her for being shortlisted in Cosmopolitan’s Blog Awards!

Lily was one of the first blogs I started following as I loved her wearable outfit posts and her honest make up reviews. I’ve really enjoyed reading about her flat move and I definitely have the homeware bug now.

Liza's blog covers a variety of topics, from beauty and fashion to home and d├ęcor. I love that she photographs the finished make up look as well as swatches with her beauty posts. Little Vinny is super adorable too!

Amanda’s blog features some lustworthy high end products and her photos are beautiful.  Again, if you are looking for a certain product review then I would head on over to Dreaming Pretty as Amanda will definitely have it covered!

I could have written a list as long as my arm as there are other blogs that I love but I’d be typing away all day!  Let me know what your favourite blogs are!

BEAUTY // Make Up Revolution Flawless Palette

Make Up Revolution are renown for their amazing eyeshadows, so I just couldn’t resist putting their Flawless palette in to my basket when I was perusing through their site one evening (as you do...).

I'd seen the Flawless palette pop up on their Instagram and hadn't really seen many people raving about it.  All the hype i'd read about was mostly on their Chocolate Bar palettes or Iconic palettes, so I was intrigued to see what the quality would be like for a 32 shade palette (cast your mind back to Argos Catalogue circa 2002, I was imagining it would be one of those large number eyeshadow palettes... #startedfromthebottom).

Oh, I could not have been further away from those Argos memories!!

Flawless contains 32 super pigmented, buttery shades of pure joy, ranging from your neutral browns/beiges, to pinks/cranberries and navy/blacks, shimmers to mattes.  The amount of looks that you could create from this one palette is amazing!

There is a little fallout on application but nothing awful – just make sure you have tissue to hand if you’re using the really dark shades!  The longevity of these shades is excellent.  I wore a look from this palette on Christmas Day over a primer and it lasted ALL day (and, brucey bonus, my boyfriend also complimented me on my eyeshadow at the END of the day!)

The packaging of the palette is sturdy, with a massive mirror, which is always appreciated, especially when travelling!

For £8, this palette is a complete bargain.  It has been my go to for so many nights out, special occasions and casual weekends.

If you are looking for a cheap, all rounder palette that has loads of looks in one place then I would 100% recommend this one - just look at all those buttery, pigmented colours!

Have you ever tried Make Up Revolution eyeshadows?  Which palettes are your favourites?

FASHION // Two New Zara Shoes

I am a sucker for shoes (and clothes... and make up...) if you couldn't tell from my blog name, and I can oh so easily convince myself that I NEED 'that pair' to complete my wardrobe puzzle (which will ironically never be complete, and so the vicious circle starts).

I picked up these two pairs of Zara beauties in the sale (one pair in store and one pair online) and justified them both as being practically  yet dressy, yet casual (smooth, Rebecca!).

I don't usually go crazy for online sales (apart from ASOS), however I cannot resist the Zara sale and every year I allow myself a little haul from their Boxing Day reductions.

First up are these gorgeous mixed material ankle boots.  I had been eyeing these up online so when they were reduced in store and the final pair left were my exact size, I knew it was fate, and I can hear everyone agreeing with me... thanks guys.

I love the cut out sides as this makes them a little different, and the chunky heel makes these boots are super comfy!  The gold hardwear zip makes a nice contrast between the two materials (a grey suede type material, and black leather type) These look great with tights, jeans or bare legs (wishful thinking towards spring) so I know they're going to get a lot of wear!

The second pair I bought were these super cute lace up heels which are reduced to £19.99!  Again I'd spied these a couple of months back when I was in Cardiff so I just had to snap these up. Again, fate, y'know?

I know, I know, bit of a badly timed purchase seeing as we are probably going to get hit with the winter weather aaaaany day now (can hear my house being battered with wind and rain as I type), but I can't wait to wear these with tights and a cute dress, or with high waisted jeans when it's dry.

The heel height is pretty low so you could definitely get away with wearing these in the day (but obv wear whatever the hell you want whenever the hell you want).

They lace up quite high above your ankle, and the tie then wraps around your ankle a couple of times.  The gold hardware on the ends of the laces are a nice tough and will ensure the laces don't fray at all and are easy to unlace.

I am in love with my two new pairs of shoes if you couldn't tell, however I just need to pluck up the courage to actually wear them outside of the house (if this damn rain would stop, i'm getting puddle paranoia).

Have you bought any new shoes in the sales or had a peruse on the Zara sale?

BEAUTY // Sephora Haul

I’m throwing it right back to June with this post, when I made my first EVER visit to Sephora *angel chorus*.

To say I was overwhelmed was an understatement.  I felt like running around ALL the aisles, rolling on the floor, swatching everything all the way up my arms and legs, and crying.  But that’s normal for a first Sephora venture, right?...

Sephora MicroSmooth Baked Sculpting Contour Trio in Sweet

3-in-1 product, I was sucked in straight away. This baked trio is really pigmented and perfect for travelling. I was a little worried about the blush colour in this at first as pink isn’t my first choice, however when blended in to the skin it leaves a nice natural colour to the cheeks – nothing too doll like!  The bronzer is perfect to warm up your complexion or use instead of a blush.  The highlighter is also really pretty.  It adds a lovely natural sheen/glow to the skin – not a massive glitter particle in sight!

Sephora Prep and Perfect Smoothing and Brightening Powder

I’ve been building up my collection of translucent powders as they are perfect for any time of year and any shade of foundation!  This one sets my makeup perfectly as it doesn’t settle in to any fine lines (I wish this wasn’t true but alas) or leave a cake-face finish either!

Sephora Colourful Shadow and Liner

My second eyeshadow stick ever, can you believe it!  I’m not a massive fan of cream eyeshadows but I wanted to give one of these a go.  I just love the champagne colour!  It blends out really well and can be worn alone or under other shadows.  It doesn’t crease as badly as I thought it would.  I love wearing this on the inside of my eye to make me look a little more fresh-faced (8 hours sleep just doesn’t cut it for me). The only downside of this neat little eyeshadow stick is the lid as it doesn’t click shut, so can pop open in your make up bag!

Sephora Ultimate Warming Cleanser

How many cleaners is too many cleansers?  Answer – there is NEVER TOO MANY!  I was hooked by the warming effect of this mask, which opens your pores up for a proper deep cleanse!  The syrup like texture is really easy to massage in so you’re not tugging at your skin. I have dry skin and this doesn't leave my skin feeling tight or dry at all, so massive thumbs up.

Sephora Metamorphosis Exfoliating Powder

I had never seen anything like this before so I was intrigued.  You can add this powder to any cleanser you have to transform it into an exfoliator – absolute genius, right?  I’ll do a full review soon, but for now, I'm really liking this!

Sepohra Rose Mask

I know beauty bloggers stock up on these when they have the chance, so I picked up this brightening and moisturising mask to see what the fuss was all about (and my mum picked up about 10!).  I can’t bring myself to try this yet but I’ll let you know what I think!

What do you think of my Sephora haul?  Has anything caught your eye?
